

95, of Indianapolis, departed this life Friday, May 27, 2022. He was born December 10, 1926 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Carl and Ruth (Samuels) Halsey. Don grew up and attended schools in Clinton, Indiana. He had attended Purdue University and then graduated from Butler University, earning his Bachelor’s of Science degree. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked most of his life as a service engineer for Allison Transmissions.
Don was a former member of St. Monica Catholic Church, where he a member of the Men’s Club. He had also been a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and was presently a 35-year member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
Don loved to travel and had many memorable trips with his family over the years. He enjoyed learning about and experiencing different cultures. His favorite places included the Caribbean, the Far East, Scandinavia, and travels in Europe. Don was a man of faith and family and never passed on an opportunity to make meaningful memories with those he loved.
Don is survived by his devoted children, Susan E. (David) Bogan, Nancy A. (Greg) Morrow and James P. (Victoria) Halsey; his grateful grandchildren, Matt & Kyle Bogan, Emily Baker & Chris Morrow and Beth & Laura Halsey and four loving great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Lucy, Rose and Jane.
Visitation for Don will begin at 11:00 am and followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 31st at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel. Entombment follows. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Don’s name to Alzheimer’s Association.
