Obituary of Dorothy C. Elliott
Dorothy C. Elliott, 99, passed away on January 6, 2020. Born July 13, 1920 in Waunakee, Wisconsin, Dorothy was raised in Madison, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late John and Magdalena (Diederich) Schmitt. James, her husband of 54 years, her sister, Jeanette Ward and her brother Robert preceded Dorothy in her death. Also preceding Dorothy is her son Michael and sons-in-law Mark Rumble and Terry Keating. Dorothy is survived by her loving children: sons, James (Ann) Elliott of Indianapolis, Anthony “Tony” (Pam) of McCordsville, Kevin (Jenny) of Noblesville; daughters, Ruth (Terry, deceased) Keating of Westerville, OH; Susan (Wallace) Weakley of Palm Harbor, Florida; Dorothy “Nan” (Mike) O’Neil of Carmel, Jenni (John) Delp of Nokomis, Florida; Mary Elliott (Lyle Hurley), of Connersville, Megan (Mark, deceased) Rumble of White Lake, Michigan; Lisa (Alex) McDufford of Elizabeth, Colorado; and daughter-in-law LuAnn of Livermore, California. 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren also survive her. Dorothy was an avid reader and a faithful fan to her Indianapolis Colts and Wisconsin Badgers. She was gifted at needlecraft, creating many projects, which she shared with her children and grandchildren. She leaves her family with many traditions, recipes, stories as well as her beautiful needleart creations. Dorothy was a charter member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Friends may visit on Thursday, January 9th, 2020 from 4 to 7 pm at Leppert Mortuary - Nora Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, January 10th, at St. Luke Catholic Church. Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
