

Enloe Fred Moehlenkamp of Indianapolis, IN passed away on August 23, 2022 at the age of 94. Fred is survived by his two daughters Barbara Pagach and Donna Booher; and his two grandchildren Jake Booher and Jennifer Booher. Fred was preceded in death by Marilyn, his loving devoted wife of 59 years; his parents Theodore and Alvina Moehlenkamp of Nashville, IL; and son-in-law Douglas Pagach.
He married Marilyn Treisch from Weldon Spring, Missouri in 1954. He always said that she gave him 59 of the happiest years of his life. Dad and Mom were special parents and grandparents as they were always there for us.
Fred grew up in the agriculture community of Okawville, Illinois. He graduated from Okawville High School in 1944 and attended the University of Illinois and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1948. He also received his commission as a Lieutenant in the US Army while attending the university.
He did tours of duty in the Army Anti Aircraft Artillery units at Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Bliss, Texas and Camp Lucas, Sault St Marie, Michigan. One tour of duty took him to Japan during the Korean War. Fred achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant prior to being discharged from active duty in 1952.
During his career he worked for the Pet Milk Company. After several years, he made a career change and became a District Sales Manager for Funk Seeds International in Central Indiana. He later assumed Regional Sales Manager responsibilities for several states in the Midwest Corn Belt. During his retirement, he enjoyed working for Callahan Seeds in Westfield, IN.
He always said his proudest family moments were when the doctors informed him of each daughter’s birth and reported mother and baby were healthy and doing well. His proudest career accomplishment’s was helping develop successful sales personnel and being asked to be a member of the Funk Seeds International President’s Council.
Dad always enjoyed working in the garden and yard work and became a Master Gardener in his retirement years. He always loved traveling with his wife and they especially enjoyed cruises.
He was a member of St Luke’s United Methodist Church and was active in many church activities. He was an usher for the church for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Indianapolis Service Club.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5th, 2022 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at Leppert Mortuary – Nora, 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 2:00pm at St Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260 with visitation one hour prior. Military honors will be at the cemetery after the service at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
