Our father, Earl Ligon, died just shy of his 100th Birthday. We were all rooting for him to turn 100 but he just wore out! He has joined our mother, Juanita, in Heaven along with a zillion animals that he loved; including the many outdoor animals that he fed religiously. As a WWll veteran he had “Taps” trumpeted at his funeral. He came home from the war with a Zeiss Ikon camera that he taught Stephanie how to use which she does to this day. He played the trumpet in high school and taught Jan how to play it which she did in junior high which is why she cried when “Taps” was played. He helped Karen with her homework by not giving her the answers which is why she’s such a good nurse. He also taught Stephanie courage, Jan patience and Karen integrity.
Daddy did a pretty good job at helping Mother raise us since we didn’t come with an instruction book.
He is survived by daughters Stephanie, Jan and Karen. Also by Jan’s husband Mike and their daughters Hilary and Courtney and her partner Christy and Karen’s children Nick and Ali.
Rest in Peace Daddy.
