Erin was a great friend of my daughter Ali Bell, especially in grade and High school.  Erin was a special friend.  Ali and I  were shocked to lose such a special woman and friend. Condolences to her Father, Mother, Brother, children and  her husband.  We will  miss her.

Erin had the kindest heart of anyone I have ever met. There was not a month that went by since we reconnected that she wouldn’t send me a text saying she loved me, was thinking about me or just a song she heard that reminded her of us together. I could talk to Erin for hours and she would always try so hard to solve any problem I may have brought up. She had such a deep love for her children, parents and family. All who knew Erin were touched by her kindness and love. She will be so incredibly missed.

Erin was a gift to all that knew her. She was the best babysitter growing up teaching generosity, kindness, and the importance of family to my siblings and me while also having lots of fun and taking care of the five of us. As I got older and saw Erin less frequently, I was always touched by how excited she was to see me and how well she knew what I was up to. I’ll miss Erin’s spirit around St. Luke and Indianapolis and am holding her whole family in my thoughts and prayers.

Erin's love for her community helped make WTLL better for all of the kids that participated in youth baseball and softball.  She will be greatly missed.

We were shocked and saddened at the news of Erin’s passing. Erin was truly one of God’s angels here on earth, always ready to help anyone at a moments notice, never asking anything in return. Jean would always reminisce about the time you all went to Williamsburge and Madison. Rest assured your moms and dads were there to great her at heaven’s gate. I guess maybe God needed some help in heaven and thought Erin was who he needed. Erin will be sorely missed, but forever live on in our hearts. Our deepest sympathy and love.

Dear Carol, Don, Brian and Family,
I did not know Erin personally, but have known Carol and Erin's brother Brian since Brian and our son Tony started school together at St. Luke's many years ago.  Carol and I have been in a Bunco group since the boys were in 3rd grade, over 20 years ago now. I've very much enjoyed getting to know Carol and hearing about her family and how it has grown over the years. It is clear how much they all love each other. 

I know Erin was special, not only because of how Carol spoke of her and her wonderful  kids (of course all the grand kids are terrific!!), but because any time I heard Erin's name it was relaying a story about her kindness and loving actions shown to everyone around her.  I can only marvel at how she managed to give so much to so many considering her own very busy personal life. 

I know Erin will be greatly missed and my heart and prayers go out to the entire Shelbourne & Miller families.

It’s hard to believe instead of prepping for the start of the school year, we are saying goodbye to Erin. She had a lot of love to give & so many SJOA families were the beneficiaries. It’s hard to imagine that building without her.

I will miss her laugh & willingness to do anything for those she loved. What a privilege it was to know Erin. We will feel this loss for a long time. Rest In Peace my sweet friend.

As I type this, I can’t help but note that we saw Erin and the kids at our house 7 days ago. She was bringing us school supplies for our little girl, also named Molly. I’m not sure I’ve fully come to grips with the idea that someone so full of life is gone so suddenly. She was such a dynamo. A fantastic teacher, protector and advocate for all the kiddos in her preschool. Saying she will be missed isn’t a strong enough sentiment. To her husband and children, parents and siblings; we feel your pain and our hearts go out to you all in this terrible time of need.

I have known her always as a MAMA.  A mama of every child that was in STL when she was giving her time to the community. She would text me in the day about my girls if they came to the office or she saw them at school. What a comfort to know she was always looking out for us... I never told her in words how much that meant to me. I am just one of SO many people she made feel special. Erin knew that small gestures don't take much, but they can  mean so much. She knew how to spread love selflessly.  Her life on this earth was all about LOVE.

I first met her when her brother Brian was in my class. We were both pregnant at the time, and we bonded over having babies that would be in the same class. I immediately loved her spirit and humor!

Erin was one of the most generous, kind, genuine, giving, honest, helpful people I have ever met.  Whenever I needed  anything, she was there. Whenever she did anything, it was with her whole heart. She genuinely loved kids- all kids! The world is definitely a bit darker without her light.

Dear Brian and family,
I wanted to share what I wrote and posted on my personal social media accounts the day that Erin died. I wanted to be sure you saw it and KNEW the impact she had on St. Joan of Arc School. You continue to be in my constant thoughts and prayers.

Erin had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew. She would do anything for anyone, without question or hesitation. She went above and beyond for St. Joan of Arc School and Preschool, her students, her colleagues, and her families. She had one goal: make SJOA the best it could be. Her energy and dedication to our school was something to be marveled at. She was the definition of “ALL-IN” and her presence will be missed greatly in our halls and in my life. Thank you, Erin, for EVERYTHING you put into SJOA each day. Our kiddos sure were lucky to have Mrs. Miller as their teacher. Rest in Heaven. ❤️

We did not have the privilege of knowing Erin, but reading her obituary testifies to her having been the product of loving parents and a family blessed to have her as a daughter, sibling, wife and mother.  We add our sincerest condolences to the long list of those fortunate enough to have had Erin in their lives and especially to her father, Don, who had to be as proud of the life she lived as he and Carol are now heartbroken by her passing.  

So very sorry to hear of Erin’s sudden passing. We will all remember the amazing things she did during her lifetime. Know you will all keep her memory close through stories, pictures and the love you had for each other. You are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly Julie

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Erin’s passing.  I first met her when I worked at St Joan as a food service aide.  She was a wonderful teacher and an even better colleague.  She will be missed.

Like everyone, we were so shocked and saddened to hear of Erin's passing.  She was one of the friendliest and most helpful people I've ever met!  I don't know how she made time to care so well for her family as well as drop everything at a moment's notice to help someone in need.  

The memories of her that stand out most to me are actually her quiet moments of service.  I remember her posting several times on the St. Luke Moms page to ask for clothing donations for kids she knew who were in need, and also selling discontinued spiritwear from her home to collect money for a family in need.  I hope we can all learn to imitate even a fraction of her generosity!  You will all be in our prayers.

The Arent family is sad to hear of the passing of Erin.  I coached Molly's baseball team a few years ago and I could tell how much Erin loved watching her kid's activities.  Your family will be in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Dear Brian, Miller Kids, and Dr. and Mrs. Shelbourne,

We left Indy in 2009 because my husband took a job at Notre Dame. I was so sad to leave all of our friends at St. Luke. I remember my first week in South Bend and I was  missing everyone in Indy  and I received a care package in the mail from sweet Erin.  It was filled with such sweet and heart felt treats! I was so touched.

When I lost my mom suddenly, and then my brother a few years later, she was so present and supportive, not just to me, but to my father in Lansing, Michigan! She sent him cards and texts to show her sympathy. I mean, can you believe that? She loved my kids to pieces and was always trying to hatch a plan to get us all together. 

Reading all of these memories from everyone has made me want to be a better person. Miller kids, it looks like you had an awesome 2021 summer (from what I saw on facebook!!!) Please cherish all of  your memories! Every time I talked or texted with your mom, she would tell me something about each of you. She was so proud of all of you. xxoo

Erin was a huge role model for me growing up. I remember at a young age when she babysat us triplets she made us feel independent, powerful, and we always had the best time and laughs with her. She will be missed, and I am so grateful to have known her.

I am so terribly sorry for the loss of Erin. I never had the opportunity to meet her in person but she was very nice and caring to me through Facebook. We connected when my son was going through cancer treatments at Riley Children’s hospital. Even though we were related through marriage she was always very supportive and giving to my sons cause. I loved seeing the pictures of her beautiful children and I’m sure she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Rest In Peace Erin. Give Adler a hug for me. ❤️🙏❤️

Personal example of Erin's generosity.  
5 years ago we lost our son Sean.  As my family is leaving church following Sean's funeral we get into the funeral directors limo for the procession to the cemetery.   Erin walks up to the limo with a box full of Jimmy John sandwiches.   How did she know we were starved?  Who would think of a gesture like that, and that it would mean so much to us?   Erin did!

I recently ran into Erin at a restaurant and we talked about family and getting together for a meal with her mother, Carol and my sister, Mary Jo.   Unfortunately we were never able to  have this lunch.  I am very saddened by her death and will be thinking of her family as they go through the next bit of time.   Erin was a wonderful woman who will be missed greatly.

I am so sorry for the loss of Erin. She and I just reconnected after almost 20 years when I saw her just a few weeks ago at Methodist Sports. Catching up with her on her family was great. My prayers are with Brian and the kids and the Shelbourne family.

     I can’t believe I am reading this. I am so sorry for your loss. I first met Erin at St. Lawrence when she and I taught Kindergarten there. We have kept in touch often, especially on St. Patrick’s day through texts. She always had a compliment about my children when she would run into them at Cathedral events, men’s volleyball ,  football or cheerleading.  
    Erin, mommy of 4 millers, you did all things with love for your family. I looked forward to your adorable Christmas cards!

Erin became a dear friend to our whole family after our Annie was in her preschool class at SJOA. I don’t think I’ve ever known a more loving and vibrant person. She will be deeply missed by the SJOA community and, I’m sure, countless other circles where Erin took the time to make all around her feel loved and valued. RIP beautiful friend. 

Erin was a wonderful friend to Bridget and I, and all our children. Before Brian and Erin had all their own kids, Erin baby sat for all of ours. This continued with our youngest (Molly) and Hannah when they were little, as they were in the same grade at St. Luke.

Erin had this amazing way about her that simply made me very happy every time I’d see her. She made you feel that she was truly happy and excited to see you, even if it was just running into each other at school or church. That gift made other people (including me) feel good. I feel blessed to have had Erin (and Brian) as friends and will miss her very much.



Erin was two of my son pre school teacher. (Louis and Russell) She loved them both but had a really special connection with Russell. She cared about him and all of her students so much and that was very apparent. During COVID when school was canceled, she delivered special pictures to everyone’s house. We still look at the class picture she put together from that.  She always went above and beyond to care for her kids she taught and I know she’d have been there for our family at the drop of a hat. We will miss her dearly. Big love to the kids. We love you Miss Hannah! ❤️ - Lindsey, Glenn, Marshall, Louis, Russell and Sandy 

Erin was the most sincere, generous, giving person I have ever known. Her love of all children was a gift. My heart aches for her family and all of us who were fortunate to know her. Her joyful laughter will forever be a part of me. Love you Erin. 

I’m heartbroken to hear about the loss of Erin. We went to college together and she lived on my wing. The stories I could tell of those girls!  I will pray for your sweet kids Erin and hopefully Jaimie met you in heaven yesterday.
