Obituary of Freddie J. Williams
Freddie Jean (Madorin) Williams, 74 years old of Carmel, Indiana, peacefully walked into the kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Born on September 1, 1948, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Fredrick L. and Imogene (Ernst) Madorin, Freddie moved 14 times during her childhood before graduating from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Freddie went on to attend Indiana Business College where she obtained her Associate’s Degree as an Executive Assistant/Secretary. Freddie worked for the Indiana Banker’s Association before leaving to start a family. She then began working part-time for Harriman Material Handling and left when she was ready to resume full-time employment. Freddie then had an incredible opportunity to work in the corporate headquarters for Inland Paperboard & Packaging,Inc. and, when the company decided to move its headquarters to Texas, she was the last person to leave the building. She continued her career working for Harris & Ford in Lawrence, Indiana, as a part of their purchasing department before retiring in 2016. Even in retirement, Freddie worked for her daughter’s company of house calls medical practices, ND Consulting & Management LLC, until the time of her passing. Throughout her life, Freddie was a member of many organizations, volunteering her time and talents to many causes. Freddie was a member of Executive Women International, Second Presbyterian Church (where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir mom, Alpha/Delta Club Leader, Christmas Benevolence volunteer), Girl Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America (as Troop Leader and Den Mother). Through all of her successes in life, Freddie was most proud of her family. She and her husband, Tom, married on August 24, 1968, just a week shy of her 21st birthday. Freddie and Tom welcomed their son, Kit in 1974 followed by their daughter Nicole in 1979. She was happy to grow her family when Nicole married Mark in 2001, and Kit married Jennifer in 2003. Freddie and Tom were beyond excited with the births of their grandchildren: Lucas (2004), Owen (2005), Noelle (2006), and Simon (2009). She also loved having dogs her whole life, with her current pugs, Linus and Sabrina, her most loved late-in-life (and spoiled) children. Freddie was an incredible Memaw, attending gymnastics meets, fencing tournaments, soccer games, cheer competitions, music recitals, school programs, and more. Freddie has passed on her legacies of decorated Christmas cookies, homemade spaghetti sauce, homemade applesauce, meatloaf, turkey stuffing, chocolate chip cookies, and an entire box of family recipes to her grandchildren. Freddie was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick L. & Imogene Madorin. She is survived by her husband, Thomas B. Williams III, children Kit (Jennifer) Williams and Nicole (Mark) Davis, and grandchildren Lucas Davis, Owen Williams, Noelle Davis, Simon Williams, and Matthew Trent. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Overturf, as well as a large extended family. Family and friends are invited to remember Freddie on Thursday, June 8, 2023 with a memorial calling from 3pm-5pm immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at 5pm at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46260. The family asks that attendees honor Freddie and celebrate by wearing her favorite color, pink, to the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the following organizations in her name: Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana, Butler University, Humane Society of Indianapolis, Kentuckiana Pug Rescue, Riley Children’s Hospital, or Sycamore School. The family will continue to celebrate Freddie afterward at a private residence. Please reach out to Tom, Kit or Nicole for details if you would like to attend.
