Gary A. Milbrath

81, of Westfield, Indiana departed this life at his home on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was born March 21, 1942 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to Clarence Milbrath & Beverly Pearl Aney. Gary served our country in the United States Air Force and then worked for the United States Postal Service for 45 years, retiring in 2006.

Gary loved working for USPS and was a well known and respected union representative. He had served as President of Indiana State Association of Letter Carriers and Treasurer and Recording Secretary for the Indiana Chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers for Branch 39. Gary also served as Trustee for many years after retirement.

He proudly represented his union and was instrumental in negotiations for postal workers.

He enjoyed attending union conventions and conferences around the country. He made many lifetime friends in his travels and never passed on a chance to sit on a beach. Gary also relaxed by playing Euchre and dinner dates with friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Theresa Stone and Kelley Milbrath McDonald; parents, Clarence Milbrath and Beverly Pearl Aney and sisters, Sharon Milbrath and Patricia Scoville.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Milbrath; devoted children, Terry (Kara) Milbrath and Christina (Paul) Santellana and Mark (Terri) Milbrath; dear grandchildren, Collin (Jordan) Milbrath, Sydney (Tallis) Jordan, Jimmy McDonald, Holly Milbrath, Jonah Santellana, Bella Santellana, Amber Caton and Wayne Stone; several great-grandchildren and a host of old dear friends and grateful co-workers.

A visitation for Gary will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4th at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel and conclude at time of memorial service at 7:00 pm at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Branch 39, Hoosier City Scholarship at USPS 2211 E. 54th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220 in memory of Gary A. Milbrath
