Obituary of Geraldine "Gerry" A. Decraene
Geraldine (Gerry) Flanigan Decraene, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana and Naples Florida passed away on Jan 23, 2021. She was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to the late Louis and Marie Flanigan. She moved to Carmel in 1975 with her husband, Bob, and their six children. Gerry is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Decraene and children Daniel (Patricia) of Atlanta GA, James Decraene of Duarte, CA, Suzanne (Scott) Fore of St Charles, IL, Robert (Cheryl) Decraene of Troy, MI, Diane (Greg) Brown and Michael (Megan) Decraene, both of Indianapolis, 14 beautiful grandchildren, Darren (Melissa) Decraene, Nicole (Josh) Dreiling, Chase Decraene, Robbie (Cathy) Decraene, Scotty Fore, Meghan (Kyle) Dreyer, Katie (Brayton) Kiedrowski, Emily and Parker Decraene, Dylan and Mason Brown, and Moira, Bridget and Reagan Decraene (who all adored Grandma) four great grandchildren and one on the way. She also is survived by her sister-in-law Alberta Bauer of Warren, Mi. Gerry is preceded in death by her granddaughter Trisha Decraene and sisters and brothers, Patricia Fessler Conway, Betty Lou Conway, Louis Flanigan, James Flanigan and Alice Roth. Gerry had many outstanding qualities and was best known as a giving and fun loving person to all of her family and friends. Her hobbies were golf, bridge and reading. She was a volunteer in the past at St Vincent hospital in Indianapolis, and William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. She is a member of Meridian Hills Country Club in Indianapolis. She loved spending the winters in Naples on Vanderbilt Beach. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Indianapolis and St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples. Service will be held at Leppert Funeral Home at the Nora Chapel, 704 E 86th St, Indianapolis. Visitation hours will be 4-7 on Monday Feb 1st. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Luke Catholic Church on 7575 Holiday Dr E. Indianapolis at 11:00 am Tuesday Feb 2nd. Burial will be private at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
