Obituary of H. William "Bill" Vogt, Jr.
Harold William (Bill) Vogt, Jr., 94, of Indianapolis, died July 15, 2021. Born October 22, 1926, in Geneva, New York, Bill was a proud 1950 graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He was retired from P.R. Mallory Timers. Bill was a WWII veteran of the US Navy. He cultivated a love of car racing and upon his move to the city, became a yearly spectator at the Indy 500. Bill shared his love of jazz, good beer, travel, and reading with all of us and he was the family authority on any computer issues saving us many times when all seemed lost! Bill also introduced his euchre expertise to his entire family and there were many spirited games at our annual family reunions. Bill is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Carol Jean (Pass); children, Marla Anne Vogt-Roberts, Tom(Martha), Lisa Molter (Rick Hemwall), Jennifer (Greg) Mulkey; grandchildren, Brianne Vogt-Roberts, Sarah (Jim) Tanner, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Eric (Eve) Lachowski, Dane (Rachel) Molter, Alex Vogt, Kate (Derek) Facklis, Matthew (Emma Wilmer) Lachowski, Kevin Vogt, Nick Molter, Samara (Brian) Clar, Alexandra Mulkey; six great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Robida; nephews, Steve (Karen) Robida and John (Charlene Hook) Robida, and former wife Jeanne Vogt. Bill is preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law Cynthia Jeanne and Timothy Lachowski, parents Harold William, Sr. and Verna Irene (Gross) Vogt; and brother-in-law Victor Robida. The family is very thankful they were able to spend a wonderful Father’s Day with Bill this past June.
