Ian was my boss at Createc in México. I learned a lot of Accounting from him. Our prayers for him and his family. 

I worked with Ian at Createc Corporation. I enjoyed working with him and he always had a good sense of humor. He was a great co-worker and a kind person.
He will be missed.

Ian: One of the truly great ones.  Ian and I worked together several times during our careers at Lilly.  He approached every assignment with an approach that focused on getting the job done.  I remember asking Ian on multiple occasions how we could accomplish a particular goal; his response was to ask me what we were trying to accomplish, and then to let him figure out how to get it done. And more often than not, he did exactly that.  

Ian was the great connector. If he did not know the answer to something, he usually knew  someone who did.  He reveled in getting the right people together to solve an issue, which he did over and over again. 

Ian had an innate sense of curiosity.  He loved to learn new things.  I believe that is why he truly enjoyed his varied assignments at Lilly, and then his varied positions outside of Lilly.  He never stopped learning, never stopped showing a genuine interest in understanding something new, and in making new friends.

Ian had an incredible sense of humor.  Always quick with a comment, often sarcastic.  But always very funny.  And he made as much fun, or more,  of himself as anyone else.

Ian loved his family, and was so proud of the great young men that his boys had become.  He told me that the last ten years since his diagnosis  had been a gift. He had no regrets. He lived a very full life, and he will be missed by all who knew him.  

Ian was a good friend of mine dating back to our days at Loyola High School and Loyola College in Montreal.  I was fortunate to be able to get together with Ian 4 times over the last 10 years, including 3 times while he was working in Las Vegas.   Ian loved to share with me his experiences that involved his 2 sons, including his going down Route 66 with one of his sons while taking him to university.  Ian had an incredible sense of humour which he would deliver in his very distinctive voice.  We had originally planned for Ian to come and visit myself and my wife so we could show him the Calgary Stampede in 2020 (an event said he always wanted to attend).  Ian will very much missed by myself, his family and friends.  To Ian's family, I want to express my heartfelt condolences.  He will truly be missed by us all.

Ian was my boss for an assignment at Lilly back in the 90's, but I remained in touch with him throughout my career because he was such a great mentor.  His insight into people and how to manage through interpersonal conflicts helped me multiple times.  I remember one situation where his advice was completely counter to every instinct I had because it felt like I was setting someone up to be publicly crucified.  Instead, when the person heard the same input from others that I'd been providing, he finally got it and later gave me kudos for working well with him!  Ian's sisters weren't the only people he teased.   He once said to me, "Whenever I see a meeting with you appear on my calendar I know that you're bringing me an interesting problem to solve!"   I'm sorry cancer was one challenge he couldn't overcome.  My prayers are with his family.

To Ian’s sons and Julie, 
I worked with Ian at Lilly and he was one of my favorites. Always made me laugh, worked hard, was kind to everyone. We carpooled a few times to work and he loved to tell me about his sons. He was so proud of you. My prayers are with you.

My prayers go out to  all of  you. Ian will be  missed, his  infectious  smile  and positive  attitude in  spite of the  adversity  he  experienced  the  past  10  years . I worked with Ian at Lilly from those  first  days . I could always  count on  Ian  to do  the right thing, his  integrity  was  without question.

My condolences to Ian's family.   Though I didn't know him well,  we crossed paths several times during our careers with Lilly.   I always found him pleasant to associate with, and I had a lot of respect for him.  I wish you all many pleasant memories of your time with him.
