Then he was a cook for Denny’s Restaurant, and for Kroger Grocery for several years. He also earned his CDL and was a long-distance semi-truck driver until he retired.
One of Jack’s greatest joys in life was being a grandpa. He adored each of his grandkids and they in turn adored him. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his kids and grandkids if at all possible. He was a great cook and his biscuits and gravy were legendary.
Jack was talented with a booming voice, and his beautiful tenor voice was often heard in church choirs and as a soloist. Jack loved singing his praises to God in worship whenever he could.
Jack had a “green thumb” when it came to growing vegetable gardens and was always happy to share the abundance with family and neighbors. His back yard flower gardens were lovely also.
Jack was a “people person” and never met a stranger. He had a God given gift of serving others whenever possible and was known for his great optimism and enthusiasm. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
