James T. Cosgrove, age 90, passed away on March 26, 2026. Born January 8, 1936, in Indianapolis, Jim was the son of the late J. Harold and Mary E. (Kelley) Cosgrove. He was a compassionate, devoted man whose life was marked by faith, family, and steadfast dedication to those he loved. Jim resided in Carmel, Indiana.
Raised in Indianapolis, Jim graduated from Cathedral High School in 1955. He went on to earn a business degree from Indiana University in 1955, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jim remained a loyal supporter of IU throughout his life, always following IU sports and cheering for his alma mater.
In 1962, Jim married Judith Ann Market in Indianapolis. He lived in Michigan for several years before returning in 1984 to the Indianapolis and Carmel area. A devout Catholic, Jim was a familiar face at St. Luke Catholic Church from 1984 onward, living his faith quietly and consistently, and always placing his family and faith above all else.
Jim served his country in the United States Army for three years. He later became the founder and operator of JTC Sales Incorporated, leading the business for over 40 years with determination and pride. In retirement, Jim loved playing golf, enjoying the outdoors, and supporting his grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Cosgrove; his sons, James Cosgrove, Jr. and Jason Cosgrove; his daughter, Ann Cosgrove; and his sister, Kay Brumleve. He is survived by his son, John Cosgrove (Lara); his daughter, Jennifer Cosgrove; his son, Joe Cosgrove; and his grandchildren, Elise, Cecelia, Sophia, and Sean.
Visitation will begin at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 11th at St. Luke Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment follows at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
