Jane Healey Watson

Jane earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social work at Indiana University. After college, she worked in social work at Central State Hospital and later volunteered for local nonprofit organizations. In mid-life she continued her education at the University of Indianapolis School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She shared her skills at St. Vincent Hospital Hospice as a hospice nurse-volunteer and bereavement coordinator.

Jane gave much of her time in support of arts and social service organizations in Indianapolis. In addition to hospice, she worked in support of Families First/Firefly, the Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis, the Indiana Council for Learning Disabilities, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Edyvean Repertory Theatre at CTS.

Jane was married to Hugh Watson for 61 years and is survived by sons Scott and Todd (Bree), and five grandchildren—John (Kaitlyn) and Alex Watson, Skylar Preston-White, Eben and Ozias Watson.
