Jeff passed away on January 5, 2022, while hospitalized in Omaha, NE.
He attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel grade school and graduated from Carmel High school in 1987. Jeff graduated from Northwestern University in 1991.
While traveling through the northwest region of the United States, Jeff settled in Portland, Oregon in 1993. He joined McMenamins Restaurants, Pubs & Bars where he was employed as a brewer. Jeff progressed with McMenamins as a district manager of several breweries until operations were closed during the Covid shut down in March of 2020. He returned to work at McMenamins after the breweries reopened in July 2021. Jeff retired from McMenamins in October 2021.
Jeff lived in Portland Oregon for almost 30 years. During that time, he was surrounded by a tremendous group of friends. These friends became a second family to Jeff. Jeff was an avid sports fan, especially of the Chicago Cubs, who he named his beloved dog “Addie” after (Wrigley Field is on Addison Street). Jeff was a season ticket holder for the Portland Timbers and attended Indianapolis Colts games when visiting Indianapolis at Thanksgiving time.
Jeff was travelling with his dog, Addie to Indianapolis for the Christmas holidays. He became ill on December 17, 2021, during his trip in Omaha NE and was admitted into Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy Hospital ICU. Jeff passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after spending three weeks in the Hospital ICU. His dog Addie was adopted by his Aunt Clare and taken to Cincinnati to live with her and her daughter Callie.
He is survived by his parents Jeff and Kathy Kennelly and by his six sisters: Kris Bigelow (Mike Bigelow – deceased), Mary Harris (Brian Harris), Karen Collins (Duane Collins), Katie Hale (Donnie Hale), Megan Stewart (Andy Stewart), Molly Kennelly (fiancé Mitch Kotlarski) and his brother, Michael Kennelly. His is survived by his nieces; Kate Bigelow (fiancé Cole Clements), Maggie Bigelow, Gracie Collins, Jasmine Hale, Ella Harris, Lauryn Collins, Reese Alderson, and Lucy Stewart. And by his nephews; Matt Bigelow, Jack Harris, A.J. Collins and Trey Hale and by his cousins, aunts and uncles who reside in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Phoenix, California, Utah, New Jersey and Florida. Jeff is also survived by his grandmother, Dolores M. Kennelly, who resides in Westfield, New Jersey.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 22, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Saint Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers, Indiana. The Mass will be live-streamed at https://sldmfishers.org/live-stream-funeral-masses-at-sldm. There will be a celebration of Jeff’s life immediately after the Mass in the Saint Louis de Montfort social hall.
