John E. Leahy

John Edward Leahy, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. Born on June 11, 1950, John was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community.

John grew up in a closeknit family and attended St. Joan of Arc for grade school. He graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and later pursued higher education at St. Leo’s College in St. Leo Florida. His strong work ethic and passion for the trucking industry led him to a successful career with Kibler Trucking Company and later Distribution Management Associates. John was a proud member of the American Trucking Associations, Contract Carriers, and the Indiana Motor Truck Association. He also cherished his time as a member of the Old Oakland Golf Club, where he formed his most beloved and lasting friendships.

John was the devoted father of Joseph Leahy (Cory) and a loving brother to Katherine Hoefle (Gary), Margaret Pike, Thomas Leahy, Ann Court, Gerald Leahy (Erin), James Leahy (Claudia) and stepsons Ryan and Kevin Barry. He was also a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Anne Kibler Leahy and John Edward Leahy Sr., as well as his wife Kathleen “Kitty” Leahy and Michael Leahy and Patricia Lucas.

John’s life will be celebrated with a service at Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM), where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the legacy he leaves behind. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 5692 Central Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220, on December 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm.

John will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his contributions to the trucking industry, and his warm and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
