Judith A. Coppens

Judy was born in South Bend, IN, on June 11, 1938, to the late Aloysius “Al” and Phyllis (Kolber) Kusz. On October 5, 1963, Judy married Thomas Coppens in South Bend, IN.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Paula) Coppens of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Amy Wolf of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Tyler (Lauren) Coppens and Emily (Collin) Brinker both of Newburgh, IN, and Kate Wolf and Jack Wolf both of Indianapolis, IN; great grandchildren, James Brinker and Piper Coppens, both of Newburgh, IN; brother, Jim (Mary) Kusz of Berkeley, CA, and sisters, Therese (Brad) Bauer of Whitefish Bay, WI, and Debbie (Chris) Hess of St. Charles, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Christine Berta, and brother, Kevin Kusz.

Judy was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. She stayed busy as a stay-at-home mom and then in later years worked as an administrative assistant before retiring.

Judy was an avid reader, crossword solver, and loved all things history. She also enjoyed weekend travels to visit her kids and grandkids.

The family would like to thank the staff of Traditions at North Willow and Dignity & Hope Hospice for their wonderful care of Judy.

Private services and interment will take place at a later date.
