Kevin S. McKenney, 66, of Indianapolis, Indiana departed this life on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Kevin was born on March 15, 1959 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to the late Roy Tilden & Mary Louise (Lockhart) McKenney. He grew up and attended schools in Fort Thomas and was a graduate of Highlands High School. Kevin then earned his degree in Actuarial Science and Accounting from Ball State University in 1981 where he made many lifelong friends.
Kevin worked his entire career in banking and business management and enjoyed following and investing in the markets. He lived to help others and was willing to give people “the hard truth”. He never passed on an opportunity to help those he loved and was always excited to share his knowledge of finance to enrich the lives of others. Many remain grateful for his guidance when unexpected times became challenging.
Kevin was a longtime and accomplished tennis and pickle ball player. He loved to read, and never cared much for cooking and cleaning. He enjoyed being with friends and family and had a great sense of humor.
Kevin is survived by his beloved sister, Erin McKenney; extended family; his devoted Ball State Gang and a host of grateful friends.
Visitation for Kevin will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 11th at Leppert Mortuary-Nora Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life at noon. All are welcome to continue celebrating Kevin’s life with a reception that follows at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Kevin’s name to the Holliday Park Foundation or to Just Neighbors Ministry.
