Kevin Edward Short, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 25, 2026. He would consider his family his greatest achievement and his three children and four grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Born on June 24, 1957, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Kevin was the child of Alberta (Schwomeyer) Short and Jim Short. He attended Beech Grove High School and was the Manager of Operations at A Classic Party Rental in Indianapolis where he worked for almost four decades and was a treasured associate and resource.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Zafian) Short; children, Julia, Matt and Katie (Andy) Parcell; grandchildren, Jada, Lexi, Lily and Everett; siblings, Mary Ann Johnson, his twin sister Karen (Steve) Rosemeyer and Tom Short; mother-in-law, Ann Zafian and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian.
Kevin leaves a legacy of kindness and laughter. He never met a room he couldn’t brighten or a person he wouldn’t befriend. He was beyond generous. He was never not there if you needed something with no questions or judgement…just doing whatever was needed. He and Mary Ann had an embarrassingly affectionate and deep, unending love that set the gold standard for others. His passing has left an unfillable hole in the hearts of anyone who knew him. His unmatchable sense of humor and playful spirit have left us with countless stories that will forever keep us smiling and laughing.
“How lucky we are to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard”- A.A. Milne
