

Margaret Jane (Robertson) Salin passed away peacefully at her home in Carmel, Indiana on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 92. Jane was born in Bloomington, Indiana on April 9, 1933, and was the youngest daughter of the late Elizabeth Ann and Donald A. Robertson. She was a graduate of Bloomington High School and attended Indiana University.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband William N. Salin and sister Donetta Cooke Wertz. She is survived by her son William N. Salin II (Peggy), daughters Sherri Fritsch, Susie McClain (Garth), eight grandchildren, William III (Julie), Sophia & Sam Salin; Charlie, John & Margaret McClain; Bob & Will Fritsch. And three great grandchildren; William IV, Sloane, and Teddy Salin.
Jane was a faith-filled person and very giving to the communities she was a part of. Jane was active in the United Methodist Church for many years. In 1997, Jane and Bill served as co-chairs for the capital campaign which raised funds to build the new sanctuary at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where they were members. She was a member of the Forum Club of Southwest Florida, Royal Palm Society of the Naples Botanical Garden, Meridian Hills Country Club, former President of the Junior League of Fort Wayne, IN and volunteered for numerous philanthropic organizations throughout her life.
Jane was an avid sports fan and loved watching IU football & basketball along with Pacers and Colts games. Jane’s special place was with family and friends at Lake Wawasee where she and Bill spent 55 years enjoying water skiing, sailing and boat-in-worship. Some of her favorite memories include attending her grandchildren’s school activities and taking them on a variety of different trips to explore the United States.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be shared with the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation (WACF), Indiana University Foundation, and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
