I’m so sorry to hear about Aunt Margaret’s passing. I’m not related, but Margaret and my mother (Gloria Gill) were best friends in high school.  We always called her Aunt Margaret. I remember her babysitting me and my two brothers when we were little. I’m sorry to say my last conversation with her was 6 years ago when my dad (Bill Gill) passed.  We did keep in touch through Christmas cards each year.  Sending my condolences to her family and friends. 

Margaret Ann was a shining example for me as I grew up. Always there despite distance. She will be remembered fondly.

After hearing of cousin Margaret's passing, I dreamed of her last night. I remember visiting the family home in Jeffersonville. Those close to Margaret will remember that she was a basketball player. I'm not athletic but my older brother Richard was and I can see them playing b ball in the driveway. 
Something else... when I told Margaret about something good that had occurred to me, she would say 'very good'. I can hear her voice those words now. William Combs, Sarasota, Florida.

I owe my successful pharmacy career to Dr Shaw.  She was a demanding and excellent teacher.  We were all intimidated by her the first year and I failed my first test ever in her Calcs class.  She got my attention! By the time we graduated, she had become a mentor and friend. All of my pharmacy class credited her as the single most important person who prepared us to pass the difficult board exam. My entire class passed on first attempt. Thank you, Dr Shaw. You made a difference in our lives.  May God bless her and her grieving family.

I am saddened by my cousin's passing. I have fond memories of being with Margaret Ann, her dear sister Doris and of course my Uncle Charlie and Aunt Anna Rae, visiting them on State Street in Jeffersonville, just across the river from Louisville. We also enjoyed our times together at their cabin overlooking Cumberland Lake.

Rest in peace cousin Margaret. My Dad, your cousin David...isn't the most computer literate of those from the Silent Generation, so I am writing on his behalf. He had a cute story the other day as he was reminiscing about his childhood and how when his brother and another cousin would tease and pick on him, Margaret would come to the rescue. He even admitted to provoking them just to see Margaret come to his defense.

We are quite proud to know of Margaret's legacy and the impact she has had on Pharmacy education and Butler University. Though I only had the opportunity to meet her once, she struck me as a kind and gentle human. 

Dr. Shaw was a dedicated teacher. She was demanding but fair. I was fortunate to have Dr. Shaw as one of my instructors as well as my academic advisor at Butler University College of Pharmacy. She skillfully guided my undergraduate path and encouraged me to apply to graduate school. Additionally she paved the way for me to have a successful career with the Department of Veterans Affairs. I am just one of many students who owe much to Dr. Shaw.  She changed lives.
