There was originally a poem my mother wrote attached to this that I think anyone visiting this page will like to see...

"After"

When I don't come here anymore with a folding chair and a good book

The pelicans will still fly over in tight formation

And the dolphins will still amuse

And footprints will be taken by the tide

If God is as kind as I think He is

Perhaps I will arrive in Heaven with a little sand in my shoes

Marty was a magnificent woman whose memory will endure forever in the lives of many people who were enriched by knowing her or being educated by one of her many pre-schools. She was the mother of a spectacular family and the wife of a special man. Marty will long remain.

You have my deepest sympathy.

Had the pleasure of meeting Marty and John when their oldest son, Chris, decided to play ice hockey. I was Chris’ coach for many years and got to know Marty and her gang quite well. Always upbeat, positive and generous. Home made cookies and laughter were a constant. I’m grateful to the Long Family for years of love and respect. My thoughts and prayers are with the Long Family and Marty’s life should be a life to be celebrated.

Mitch Yanoff and Family.
