Mary was one of the most special people in my life growing up - she was kind, gentle yet full of spunk, an incredible story teller, hard working, savvy at sharing needed candor, and an amazing person with whom to spend time. Growing up in the halls of Skiles Test with my mom and Mary, I have so many memories of helping Mary with her bulletin boards on Holland every year, organizing desks, etc. while enjoying her delicious chocolate chip cookies and famous phrases that live on in my family such as, “Here we go, riding on a buffalo.” My second son is named Everett after Mary, as her impact on my life will continue to live on in many ways. I wish so much I could have attended the service, and am sending love and prayers from afar. With love, Allison

I was thinking of Mary this morning and wondered if she was still living. I now live in Phoenix, but I used to live two houses away from Mary in Copperfield. I enjoyed numerous wonderful visits with her. She was a great neighbor. I also went to Skiles Test and I loved reminiscing with her about my old teachers. I will continue to remember her and our fun visits. Condolences to the family.

I knew Mary through her daughter, Nancy, who brought her to church at St. Luke’s. It was such a joy to meet her and be rewarded with a beautiful smile and warm greeting! I will miss seeing her sitting in front of me enjoying the service!
My heart goes out to Nancy and the family

Mary was our treasured neighbor on Brookview Lane. She was a mentor to me as a young mother and a beloved “grandma” to our three children. They fondly called her Mrs. E. and she provided them so many fun hours baking and playing games. Mary even gave our girls her wedding dress to add to their “dress up “ collection, which they cherished.
Rest In Peace, sweet Mrs.E.

Dear Everett’s -
I am so very sad by this news. Mary was a dear and supportive friend through the years. We met at Skiles and then were in book club together. My husband had a heart transplant in 2005 and his back hurt so badly, he needed a support - I asked her to make a cover for apiece of foam to coordinate with his leather chair, She graciously did so. I am using it even now. She was so good to the Hannas over the years. We rode to book club together, took walks, and went to the movies. Such a dear, dear friend. She will be sorely missed. I will always treasure my cushion!
