Mary E. Saville passed away on January 15, 2021. She was born on January 7, 1930 in Ely, Nevada. Her parents were Paul and Ellen Kiernan. She graduated with honors from East High School in Sioux City, Iowa and attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She served on the staff of Iowa Congressman Charles Hoeven in Washington, D.C. from 1951-1958 and was employed by McCready & Keene, Inc. from 1968-1997 when she retired. During her years in Washington, she met and married her beloved husband, Keith, to whom she was married for 54 years.
She is survived by her son, Gordon (Karen) Saville, granddaughters Niki (Kenneth) Robertson, Charity (Jamie) Behrman, Taylor (Jeffrey) Smith, and five great-grandchildren, Sharmar and Jalen Robertson, Harrison, Helen and Marshall Behrman and as well as her sisters, Virginia Duncan of Sioux City, Iowa and Karolyn Johnston of Ruston, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith (2009) and their daughter, Nancy (1989).
Mary was an active, long time member of Second Presbyterian Church where she served two terms as a Deacon. She and Keith participated in many mission activities and the church was an integral part of their lives. During her employment at McCready and Keene she represented her firm as a member of the Indianapolis Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI).
She will be remembered for her love of writing stories and essays as well as her prolific correspondence including notes of encouragement to friends and family. It was both her hobby and her passion.
Remembrances will be given to the Christmas Benevolence Endowment Fund in the name of Nancy E. Saville in care of Second Presbyterian Church 7700 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date.
