

Melissa "Missi" Lois White, 47, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Born on June 28, 1978, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Missi was a lifelong Hoosier whose warmth, creativity, and dedication touched countless lives.
As a young child Missi was outgoing but shy and timid. Then as an early adult she blossomed into a beautiful and caring strong leader.
A proud 1996 graduate of Lawrence North High School, Missi went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Indiana University and later completed her master's at Butler University. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career in the Indianapolis Public Schools system, where from 2008-2013 she taught at School 54 Brookside Elementary School, 2013-2015 she was the Assistant Principal at School 114 Paul Miller Elementary School, 2015-2016 she was the Principal at School 114 School Paul Miller Elementary School, and 2016-2020 was the Assistant Elementary Principal at School 391 Rousseau McClellan Montessori, shaping young minds with compassion and integrity.
Missi was also very passionate and fulfilled with her work at Whitlock Painting, Inc. where her creativity and attention to detail shone through.
Missi was also known for her artistic spirit. An avid crocheter and crafter, she found joy in creating beautiful pieces that brought comfort and delight to those around her.
Missi is survived by her loving mother Debbie (Ed) Morgan; sister Mandie (Steve) Williams; cherished niece, Carlyn White; grandfather, John Gibson; stepmother, Brenda White; brothers, Josh and Matt; beloved nephews, Brenden, Huntley, and Remington; niece, Cadence; grandfather, Glen Oney; Aunt Carla (Greg) Linamen, Sam(Chas)Coxon, Johnny(Alisha) Noah Gibson; Cousins Sam, Johnny, Noah; and countless other aunts, uncles, cousins, loving family members and long-time friends Cara (Kevin) Jett, Taylor and Tori, Tony Tensley (Sarah), Rita Miller, and a large circle of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mark White, Grandmother Joan Gibson, Grandmother Oney; Uncles, John and Rob Gibson.
Missi we will miss your vibrant spirit and big warm heart. You were our everything and our go-to-person. You made sure we all had what we needed and always made time for each and every one of us.
I miss your sweet smile, you brought joy into my life every day. I am so blessed, honored, and proud to have had you for my daughter.
Celebration of Life visitation will be held at Leppert Mortuary-Nora, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis on November 30, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Eulogy to be at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National MS Society.
Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication to others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
