

Bob graduated from Howe High School in 1949. He graduated with honors from Indiana University in 1953 with a BS degree in accounting. He served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Finance Officer from April 1954-1956.
Bob passed the CPA exam in November 1956. He was a partner with Geo. S. Olive & Co., a regional CPA firm (now Forvis) for 40 years, and served as Chairman of the Policy Committee for several years. He retired in 1995.
Bob was also Chairman of the Board of The Fields Group, Inc., an incentive travel company operated by his two sons, Doug & Dan.
Bob had been a member of Highland Golf & Country Club for 56 years and served on its Board of Directors and as Treasurer for several years. He was Senior Club Champion 5 times. Bob also played golf on the Howe High School golf team. In 1943, he played baseball at Busch Stadium on the Indianapolis City boys baseball championship team.
Bob was an avid fan of Indiana University Football and Basketball holding season tickets for many years. He enjoyed the Indianapolis Colts. He treasured watching golf tournaments (The Masters, U.S. Open) with family. Like clockwork, Bob would enjoy his gin martini at 5 o’clock every day.
Survivors include his wife Shirley (Hancock) Fields; son Douglas (Julie); stepson John A. Hancock (Tina); and 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debra S. (Moorman) Flick; son Daniel A. Fields; father, Russell and mother, Dorothy.
Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 pm on August 13 at Leppert Mortuary Nora, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN. Then from 4-7 pm please join us for a Celebration of Life to be held at Highland Golf & Country Club, 1050 West 52nd Street, Indianapolis IN.
Private burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road.
