Scott Arlen Morehead, 63, passed away suddenly on December 15, 2024, with his family by his side. Born on March 24, 1961, in Great Lakes, IL, Scott was the cherished son of Captain John A. Morehead and Janet H. Morehead.
Scott was a devoted father, adoring grandfather, beloved son, and treasured friend. He leaves behind his two children, Caroline Morehead Wideman (Chris) and William Koeneman Morehead (Hannah), as well as his adored grandchildren, Henry Stone Wideman and Ferris Grace Wideman. Scott was also a proud older brother to Christopher Jay Morehead (Katie) and Sarah Morehead Combs (Steve) and a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. His warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A longtime resident of Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis, Scott had a gift for forging connections and building community wherever he went. He graduated from Lake Forest High School (1979) and DePauw University (1983), where he was a collegiate swimmer and two-time NCAA Division III National Champion. He began his advertising career in media in Chicago at DDB Needham and BBDO and he attended Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University before moving to St. Louis to start and raise a family. Scott continued his career at Louis-London/Momentum and Adamson Advertising as VP Media Director. His creativity and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Scott was an active alumnus of Beta Theta Pi, and he deeply valued the fraternity brothers who became his lifelong friends.
Scott enjoyed competing in triathlons and participated in many across the U.S. He had a zest for life and a passion for simple joys. Whether cycling through Indianapolis, cheering on his favorite sports teams, or savoring a glass of bourbon, Scott embraced every moment.
We would be honored if you could join us on February 22, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 PM at The Lantern in Lake Forest, IL. This will be a time to come together to honor my dad and celebrate the wonderful moments we all shared with him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to DePauw University, Rossman School, MICDS, or the American Stroke Association as a tribute to Scott's generous spirit.
Rest in peace, Scooter. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
