Sheryl L. Belt Thayer

Sheryl Lynn (Belt) Thayer October 1, 1951 to June 4, 2021 Sheryl Lynn (Belt) Thayer passed away on June 4, 2021 after suffering a stroke in April. She was born in Plymouth, Indiana on October 1, 1951. Sheryl loved crafting and participating in craft shows around the state. Her hands were rarely still while she was preparing for her next show. She enjoyed her cats and they will truly miss her. She loved cooking and baking. She also loved collecting snowmen and had a knack for finding very unusual pieces to add to her collection. She pursued her love of teaching and received her degree from Purdue University, Anderson, Indiana at the age of 65. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd "Bud" Belt and her mother, Ethel (Tarant) Belt. She is survived by her son, Andrew Thayer, his wife Shannon, and their son, William; and by her son, Brian Thayer, his wife Wendy, and their son, Wesley. She is also survived by her sister, Karen (Belt) Azzaro and her husband, Gregg Pennington, of Panama City, Florida; her sister, Nancy (Belt) Whaley and her husband, Randy Whaley, of Powder Springs, Georgia; and her brother, Ronald Belt and his wife, Anita Belt, of Plymouth, Indiana. She is also survived by her nieces Lorraine Waechter, Brieanne Whaley, Melissa Brownfield, Carmen Post, and nephew, Brandon Whaley. Please plant a tree in remembrance of Sheryl's life.
