

77, of Indianapolis, departed this life on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Steve was born June 23, 1946 in Vincennes, Indiana to the late Ralph Edward and Ruth Elizabeth (Holtman) Bezy where he grew up and attended schools. Steve proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Along with his German Shepherd ‘Gary’, he served the Scout Dog Platoon on the frontlines of Vietnam.
Upon his discharge, Steve then enrolled at Indiana University where he earned his B.S. in Cytotechnology. He worked as a supervisory cytotechnologist for the Anatomical & Pathology Department of the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center for 27 years, retiring in 2005.
Steve was a man of family and faith. He was a kind and gentle soul who was happiest making memories with his beloved family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and home projects. He rarely missed an Indianapolis Colts game and never passed on an opportunity to spoil his grandsons. He was a longtime and dedicated member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and supported their Haiti Committee in many ways. He was also a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann Bezy.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Vicki Gail (Troutt) Bezy; loving children, Amanda Bezy and Joshua (Carrie) Bezy; grateful grandsons, Bryson Edward Seal and Owen Joshua Bezy; dear brother, James (Cynthia) Bezy and dear friend Brian Seal.
A memorial visitation for Steve will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 6th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (4600 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46208) followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 AM .
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Steve’s name to St. Thomas Aquinas – Haiti Committee.
