

Subramanian “Krish” Krishnamoorthy, age 86, of Dindigul India died peacefully in his daughter's home on Monday, December 6, 2021. “Krish” was born June 15, 1935 in Dindigul, India to the late Subramanian and Sankaravadivu (Ammal) Krishnamorthy.
Krish was a kind and compassionate soul who was happiest learning the stories and cultures of others, traveling the world and being with his beloved and devoted family. He was passionate about enriching the minds and lives of our youth. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and History at the University of Madras in 1957, Master's in English in 1962 and then second Master's in 1977 at Western University in London.
As a high school and college English teacher and drama director, Krish spent his days helping young people find their way. Krish loved adventure and has lived in various cities in India, Canada and in the U.S. Krish made close friends wherever he went and brought out the very best in others. He enjoyed reading, walking, writing, watching movies and tennis, and listening to Jazz music.
Krish is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dr. Anandavalli (Omayorubagam) Krishnamoorthy; his devoted daughter, Dr. Jayanthi Krishnamoorthy Peters; his beloved grandson, Mr. Erich Krishna Emil Peters; dear sister, Mrs. Sundaram Vanniappan and a host of grateful students, teaching colleagues and friends across the world.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother in India.
Krish’s family will receive family and friends at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel on Sunday, December 12th, 2021 at 2:00 pm to share remembrances followed by Hindu Rites at 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor Krish by setting up a scholarship fund in his name. Details will be posted on this website next week.
