Dr. Sushil Kumar Gupta

Dr. Sushil Kumar Gupta was born to Faquir Chand Gupta and Soma Gupta on April 16, 1960 in R.S. Pura, Jammu & Kashmir, India. He was blessed with a large and loving family and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend to many. An accomplished scholar with a PhD in Immunology, he completed several fellowships in Germany and Paris, France before beginning his scientific career at PGI in Chandigarh, India. The family later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas in 2001 and to Carmel, Indiana in 2008 where he made continued contributions to life sciences therapeutic developments through research, numerous publications, and professorships. He was an avid gardener, philanthropist, sports, and outdoors enthusiast who enjoyed the many trails surrounding Carmel. Throughout the years, he often took the family for long road trips exploring parks around the US. He will forever be remembered by his wife, Sweety Gupta and his daughters, Guniya Gupta and Mehak Gupta. His memory will be cherished by his brothers, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Indu Bhushan Gupta, Sudhir Gupta, Randhir Gupta, and sister, Sudershan Gupta along with numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 4th at Leppert Funeral Services – 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
