Suzanne Louise Gray (née Ackerman), age 76, of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at home. She was born on January 7, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of the late Herschel Ackerman and the late Louise Ackerman.
Suzanne graduated from the University of Illinois College of Nursing with a bachelor of science in 1972. She later earned a master’s degree in education from George Mason University in 1989. She worked as a school nurse in Rota, Spain; Gainesville, Florida; and Indianapolis where she touched the lives of countless students and their parents.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Dr. Jonathan Gray and her brother, Van, Suzanne is survived by her son, Charles and his wife, Sara Parker-Gray.
She is remembered as kind, caring, loving, and generous by family, friends, and colleagues.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday, November 6th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Leppert Mortuary - Carmel Chapel (900 N. Rangeline Road).
