Obituary of Thomas Andrew Heidenreich
Thomas A. Heidenreich, February 9, 2021 Thomas Andrew Heidenreich passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021 at the age of 88. Born in Indianapolis to George Heidenreich and Rosemary Hendricks Heidenreich on June 8, 1932, he resided in central Indiana his entire life. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School and Purdue University. While at Purdue he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was married to the love of his life Judith Hanna Heidenreich on June 25, 1955 and they enjoyed 62 happy years together before Judy passed away in 2017. Tom and Judy had four children: Thomas Hanna Heidenreich (Jennifer), James Blair Heidenreich (Anita), Gretchen H. Witt (Ray) and Sally Preston Rowland (Eric). They were blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister-in-law Jane Hanna Houck. His sisters Phyllis Heidenreich Shreeve and Rose Ann Heidenreich Murray preceded him in death. In 1958 Tom formed T.A. Heidenreich Co., Inc. as well as Gasco, Inc. which supplied industrial heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment. Tom was active in Culver Cats Little League Baseball, Boy Scout Troop 109 and many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and gardening. Tom served as deacon and Sunday school teacher at Second Presbyterian Church. He was also involved in The Children’s Museum serving on the Board of Trustees for nine years and Chairman of Acquisitions. With his love of outdoor conservation, he held several Ducks Unlimited positions such as Indiana State Chairman, Regional Vice President and Executive Committee Member. Tom and his wife Judy were also members of Meridian Hills Country Club. The family would like to thank Quinton Young and the entire staff at Anthology of Meridian Hills for their care. There will be a private family burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. A celebration of life full of much laughter and Dewar’s will be held later this summer.
