Virginia Ann Baugh, “Ginny”, 85, of Carmel, IN went to be in her forever home on Friday, October 3, 2025 after a short battle with breast cancer. Ginny was born May 25, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to Ed and Florence Sims. Ginny enjoyed being the youngest in her family with one sister, Janet, and two brothers, Ed and Howard. She attended John Strange Elementary School, Short Ridge High School, and finished at North Central High School where she was in their first graduating class. After attending Butler University, Ginny worked as an underwriter for an Indianapolis Insurance Company. It was then that she met the love of her life, Don Baugh. They were married June 29, 1963 and enjoyed 62 wonderful years together! January 27 was a very important date for Ginny because it was on this date both in 1967 and 1972 that her sons, Mark and Kyle, were born! Ginny loved being a mom to her boys and enjoyed little league games and especially being a hockey mom for them both! In 1984 Ginny and her husband Don started D. E. Baugh Co., a stationery company in Indianapolis, IN. The company grew over the years to become a print finishing company, now known as Baugh Graphic Finishing House. Ginny had a love for golf, playing cards of all kinds, game shows, cooking shows, and especially rooting for the Colts, Pacers, and her beloved Notre Dame! She also enjoyed ladies’ golf leagues, bridge clubs, and cruising with girlfriends. Her two grandchildren, Drake and Reilley, were also a big love in her life and she especially enjoyed being a part of their activities. For the past 30 years, winters in Florida and having friends come to visit and enjoy the good life in Ft. Myers were a joy to Ginny! Every year the “season” got a little longer and longer.
Ginny was a wonderful wife to her husband, Don, a true support to her sons, Mark (and Christy) and Kyle, and a fun “meemaw” to her grandkids, Drake and Reilley. Ginny was preceded in passing from this earth by her parents Ed and Florence Sims and her sister, Janet Ybarra. She will be missed every day by her family as well as friends far and near. Cheers to a woman who knew how to laugh and love and enjoy life to the fullest!
Ginny’s life will be celebrated at a come and go visitation on Thursday, October 9 from 3:30 – 5:00pm at Leppert Mortuary and Crematory Services in Nora. The Chapel is located at 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions can be made to The Susan G. Koman Foundation in Ginny’s name. www.Komen.org
