Obituary of William "Bill" Lester Borneman
This obituary celebrates the life and beliefs of William Lester Borneman, a beloved man to many. William, known to most as Bill was a pillar of the community around him and a strong foundation for his family. William L. Borneman was born September 20th, 1932 in Indianapolis Indiana son of Edna and William, he passed away on Saturday May 29th, 2021 after reaching the age of 88 years old. William L. Borneman, is survived by his beloved wife Ethel Borneman, devoted son Terry Borneman, loving granddaughter Ashley Borneman, his great-grandsons Cale & Graham Ritter, Tammy Borneman, Felicia Kemper, Rachel, Randal & Kinsley Klein, Dylan & Brian Pfeister as well as hundreds of friends and family who adored and cherished him. He is preceded in death by his son Edward Borneman, his brother Edward Borneman, daughter- in- law Thelma Borneman, nephews Scott Borneman and Stanley Pfeister. As a very young man he met the love of his life Ethel Louise. They married at 17 years of age with “two nickels” to their name. They were married for over 71 years, inseparable and eternally seeking their next adventure. With Ethel by his side, they shared a common and endless drive for making something out of nothing; grounded in true grit. Somewhere between odd jobs, car deals and card games, they went into business together creating Med Shield, Inc., Healthcare Claims Managements, Inc. and several other accomplished ventures. They celebrated many successful years in business as partners, a true tale of the American dream. Throughout his years Bill loved spending time with his huge family and loads of close friends he acquired over his years. He enjoyed fishing, being by the water, listening to music over meaningful discussions, his wife’s amazing home cooked meals, telling old stories, tinkering on his boat, playing cards, smoking cigars, working crossword puzzles and giving advice to all who came to share in his time. For now, the family has chosen to postpone memorial services and will designate a celebration of his life ceremony at a later date. Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel assisting with arrangements.
