Zane and I were the best of friends in first grade. My step-dad was employed  by his dad and our mothers were friends so we played together a lot when we were but tender lads.  
1st grade, day one. Conversation. 
"Okay Zane, if you have any questions just ask me or Troy. We did this last year so we are pros at first grade." Ha
Back then we were living Napoleon Dynamite. 
Our last conversation was in Zane's yard in 1982 shortly after graduation.  He said to me, "When I get older I'm going to get married and have a family. And then I will take them to church." Acts 4:12; Romans 10:13; Matthew 7:21-25; Rest in Peace,  Zane, you were a one of one. God bless Zane's family in Jesus' Holy Name.

My deepest condolences to the family.  I worked with Zane for about 25 years during my time Precedent/Peteraon.  Zane was the man I loved to see on the job because he knew what, how and when things needed to be done.  He had a great sense of humor and was fun to work with.  He will sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.  Rest in peace my friend

Zane put up a good fight for life and love of others.  My memory goes back to when he was laying pipe for his dad and suffering the grief which fathers tend to inflict on their sons and deliver nothing but positive comments to grandchildren.  Shortly before Ray's passing, I he and I in his truck at the gravel pit dump site listening to  Zane discuss equipment and labor allocation. At that time Ray expressed the hope that the grandchildren would benefit from their efforts.  My projects with HSE Utilities were unusual and difficult.  Zane was a welcome partner toward a workable solution.  Although I too wish this day would have never come, I and others have been blessed by his presence and positive attitude.  May thoughts and prayers follow the family through the time of grieving.   Tom Kallio

As I sit and remember, Zane,  I can only tell you how much he has done for myself my son and the Butler family. This guy leaves a very big void in my heart and I can only offer my condolences for the Harvey family.

Zane was a once in a lifetime person to get to know, be around to experience life with and most of all be your friend. He has touched and influenced many people and I am fortunate enough to be one of those as well as my son..

I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear of the passing of Zane.  Zane was a tremendous friend and customer.  I always appreciated his honesty, loyalty, and tremendous business knowledge.  He will be missed greatly but never forgotten.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of the state Wednesday, so won't be able to attend the services.  Please know how much this pains me but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.

Zane was a genuine good person.  He was always smiling and friendly.  Ray, Kay and Tiphany opened their home to all of us that grew up together in Greentown.  He will be missed by many and the memories we made growing up will be forever cherished.

No more pain Zane… may you rest in peace.  My first recollection of Zane was when he was probably 15 operating an excavator at one of the first planned unit developments in Indy. I was with his Dad and asked him who the kid was on the excavator…” that’s my boy… he’s a pretty good operator.” Didn’t even have a license yet! Michelle and Tiffany were running the phone (hard wired) and radio for Ray.  What a good kid that inherited the touch from his old man.

Zane is a beloved classmate from Eastern.  We are heartbroken to hear of his passing.  May God bless and surround his precious family.
I have many fond memories of Zane and he will always be remembered with a smile.
