It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Brad Gregory MacArthur, age 30, of Inverness, Nova Scotia on May 21, 2023. Brad’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who he has left to mourn - his father, Lloyd MacArthur; his mother, Grace Chisholm; his sister, Jackie MacArthur; and half sibling, Janna Saffarek; his loving grandparents, Estelle MacArthur (Herbie); and Al and Floanna Chisholm; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brad was a kind-hearted, intelligent, gentle soul who never asked for much. He lived day to day helping those he loved in his quiet way - whether it was supporting his father at home by cooking a good meal or learning the ropes on the boat; to checking in, with visits, to his mother, Nanna, or Papa Al; and giving Grandma Estelle a call to help, Brad’s kindness, shy smirk, and quiet laugh in those moments will never be forgotten.
We are grateful Brad got to share his passion and love of music with the world – from an early age sharing his favorite artists with his sister Jackie to becoming a self-taught drummer - Brad felt there was nothing better in the world than music – he always enjoyed a good jam session with his best friend, Mickey, and his other lifelong buddies.
Those who knew Brad felt that he was wise beyond his years – to share a quote he had copied from Winston Churchill “The pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty”. Brad was loyal to his folks; had a kind word about everyone; and always an optimist – proven as he was a huge Leafs fan.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be held in Stella Maris Church, Inverness on Thursday June 1, 2023 from 10-10:45 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
