I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Gampie.  I know that you will have very fond memories that will stay near and dear to your hearts.  He was a very special man.  I as well as my Children had the pleasure of knowing such a wonderful man with a quick wit a love of life and a golden heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Shortly prior to her death in 1990, my mother commented... "Whatever you do, always vote for Charlie MacArthur". It was an easy request to honour! Charlie MacArthur always strove to help his constituents, regardless of political affiliation. His many untold deeds of kindness will not soon be forgotten! His like will not soon be seen again.

I really enjoyed getting to know Charlie when we were both in the legislature.  He represented Inverness well always with a great sense of humor guiding him through public life. Those of us who had the pleasure of sharing life's path with him will remember him with a smile.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of your father.  I was a secretary at the Liberal Caucus Office in 1988 and worked with Charlie and got to know him well.  I was from Cape Breton so he thought that was great.  He would always come to my desk and ask if I needed a drive home for the week-end.  He had a kind and loving personality that I will always remember.  He always had a kind word for everyone and was always so sincere.  I remember when his wife passed away...he just wasn't the same man.  He had a golden heart...so true...couldn't describe him any better.  He loved his family dearly and spoke to me often about them.  He touched the lives of all who had the wonderful opportunity to meet him.  You should be so proud to have had him for your father.  I will never forget him...Rest in Peace Charlie.
