Elizabeth Watts-MacDonald

Elizabeth Watts-MacDonald, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Born in Inverness on March 13, 1958, she was the daughter of Levi and Sally (MacLean) Watts.

Liz was a graduate of Nova Scotia Teacher’s College in Truro and taught at the Port Hood Island School. For the past number of years she was employed with Dr. Michael Ojoleck Dentistry in the Port Hood Medical Center. She enjoyed her wonderful working relationship and friendship with Dr. Mike and his wife Etel.

She was a loving daughter, mother and a close friend to her neighbours and community. She enjoyed the outdoors, music, spending time with her children, extended family and volunteering with her church and the local food bank.

She is survived by her husband Joe; sons, Joshua (Katie), Fall River; Tyler, Port Hood; and daughter Nicole, Port Hood, mother, Sally Watts, Port Hood; sisters, Susan (Sandy),Long Point; Ann Marie (Kevin), Port Hood; Kathleen, Port Hood; Donna, Halifax; brothers, Alexander, Toronto/Port Hood; Tommy (Joy), Port Hood; Bobby (Judy), Port Hood; Gary (Marcella), Port Hood; Melvin (Darlene), Port Hood. She was predeceased by her father, Levi Watts and brother, Brian in infancy.

Liz will be forever missed by several aunts and uncles, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, friends and by the extended Angus Bernard and Mae family.

The family acknowledges the professional and outstanding care provided by physicians, nurses, technicians and support staff of the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital during her illness.

Visitation will be held at the Port Hood Resting Place from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. today, Thursday, October 12. Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen’s United Church, Port Hood on Friday October 13, 2017 at 2:00pm with Pastor Maggie Plant officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Port Hood Food Bank or the St. Stephen’s United Church Cemetery fund.
