Geraldine Anne (Rankin) Cameron

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of our beloved wife, mother, nanna, sister and aunt. Geraldine Anne Cameron (Rankin) 63, of Judique, Cape Breton passed away on September 4th 2022 surrounded by her family who cherished her more than words can describe. Geraldine was born in Inverness Cape Breton. The daughter of Kenneth & Katherine Rankin (Mac Isaac), both predeceased. Geraldine married Sam, her one and only true love in 1980. Where they shared their first real "Smooch". They started dating at 16 and stayed true and strong for 47 years! An amazing marriage one can only dream of having. They in turn had 4 children, Angus (predeceased); Krista, Katie and Christopher who she loved with all her heart and were the apple of her eye. She stated she was the luckiest and most blessed Nanna of 3 beautiful grandchildren, Micah, Samantha and Abigail. Anyone who knew her knew how special these 3 gems were to her. She will protect them for years to come. Remaining to cherish Geraldine's memory are her siblings, Sinda (Fred), Catherine (Ronnie), Norman, Alexander (Roxanne), Marcella (Gary), Janie, Sally & Mary (Dan), as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Greeting Geraldine at the Pearly Gates are her son, Angus; her parents; sister, Christena; brothers, Alexander Patrick and John Willie. Also, her in-laws, Angus & Gail Cameron; as well as sister in law, Mayann O'Brien . Geraldine as everyone knows had a heart of gold and was often called MommaG to many of her children's friends and they each held a special spot in her heart and treated them like her own. She loved the simple things in life and was one gentle woman, who could spark some real good jokes and with that twinkle in her eye...we knew she was up to something fiendish as she sipped her tea or coffee. Visitation will be at the Judique Fire Hall from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Friday September 9th with Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday September 10th at 11am in St. Andrew's Church, Judique with Father Mac Millan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Parish Cemetery.
