Harry Dykes

On March 16, 2016, Harry Dykes of Inverness, NS left us peacefully to join his parents, the late Henry Dykes and Katherine Dykes (Hobson); and his sister, Gladys Sutherland. Harry accomplished much everywhere he was employed and had volunteered in the community. He never lost his ability to have a good rapport with his co-workers.

He opened his heart and his home to anyone. His joy, his laughter, the love to sing and dance, his cribbage games and his fondness of old black and white movies will surely be missed. It was always his hope that he left his family in good hands. He leaves behind his sons, Larry Lariviere (Lisa), Alan Dykes; daughters, Ann Savaglio (Frank), Aileen Comacho (George); grandchildren, Jamey Lariviere, Tina Lariviere, Lee Savaglio, Jeff Savaglio, Steven Savaglio, Kristin Comacho and Josh Comacho; great-grandchild, Dante Savaglio; his many nieces and nephews, their spouses and families and last, but not least, his loving wife Lorraine Dykes (Walker).

A family greeting will be held on March 21 from 10-10:45 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Matthews United Church, Inverness. Pastor Maggie Plant will be officiating. No flowers please - a donation to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or St. Matthew’s United Church in Inverness will be deeply appreciated
