It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that the family of James “Buddy” Timmons announce his passing in Inverary Manor, Inverness on Aug 21st, 2020. Born to Henry and Elizabeth Timmons on Aug 20th 1930. He was the eldest of 15 children, Betty Tonelli, Hank (deceased), Andrew (deceased), Albert (deceased), Wilson, Wilma Cameron (deceased) , Alfred, Edgar (deceased), Harvey, Joyce MacPhee, Donald Murray (deceased infant), Donalda MacEachern, Douglas, Doreen Scott, Jackie (deceased). On December 20th,1956 he married Molly ( Poirier ) (deceased), and was the proud father of eight children, James (Kay) Inverness; Charlotte (Ken Dalton) Edmonton; Darlene (deceased) (Angus Campbell) Inverness; Marlene (deceased) (Paul Holmes) Moncton; Murray (Bonnie) Edmonton; Edy (Rick Hesse) Geary; Sandy (Cathy) New Glasgow; Wilma (Gerard Cummings) Inverness. He was a Grampy to Kelly, DJ, Lisa, Kevin, Keith, Lisa, Kenneth, Andrea, Keegan, Shay-lynn, Brayden, Sarina, Taylor, Kenzie, Kendall, Kalen, and James and a SUPER Grampy to David, Tyler, Jack, Channing, Kayla, Hayley, Meyah and Nate. He was a family man, and community meant family to him, so the Community along with his family will feel this loss. He showed his dedication in many ways. Through sports, he held every title a person could have in an arena, player, coach, referee, ice maker, skate sharpener (tooted throughout the county as the best), arena committee member, and then honorary member. On a baseball field, he was a player, coach, and an umpire. And with each hat he wore he gained the respect of many due to his fairness and love of the sports. He was a member of the Kinsmen Club, and worked hard behind the scenes with the Arena and Community Bingos, and at the Inverness Raceway with the para-mutual betting machines. Some even reminiscing that they just didn’t go as smoothly without him there. While working at Quincy Market during the day and going to school at night he gained his electrical ticket, garnering a position at the Evans Coal Mine working his way up to above ground supervisor before his retirement from there. We can truly say that he lit up the lives of many of the residents of Inverness, due in the fact of his work as an electrician. He was highly sought after for his skills, and had many a partners and apprentices that will say how proud they were to learn from him. Viewing/visitation will take place on Tuesday August 25th from 3-7p.m. in Inverness Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions Funeral Service and burial will be announced at a later date to permit safe travel of family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charity of your choice. To Wilma, Sandy and the rest of the family: my condolences.

I still remember how Buddy and Molly welcomed me into their home and made me fee like family when I came from Port Hawkesbury to teach swimming in the summers.
