James "Jimmie" Alexander MacDougall

MacDougall, James Alexander “Jimmie” - age 90, Broad Cove, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Born in Inverness on February 12, 1922, he was a son of the late Daniel and Mary (MacDonald) MacDougall. He joins his departed sisters, Margaret and Mary, as well as his brothers, Francis and Joseph. He was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove. He lovingly cared for his parents and maintained the family homestead for many years, welcoming his siblings and their families home each summer. Jimmie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

Jimmie is survived by his sister, Catherine MacDougall, of Washington, D.C. and his brothers, John of Toronto; RJ, and his wife Anne, of Waltham, Mass.; Peter, Bernie, Donnie and his wife Dianna, of Toronto. Jimmie is also survived by eight nieces and nephews; eighteen great-neices and nephews, all who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday October 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Margaret of Scotland Cemetery Fund, Broad Cove or to the Inverary Manor, Inverness..
