John Dougald MacEachern

In his younger years John Dougald worked on his father’s farm where he developed his love for horses and animals, he was an avid ball player, who loved watching all sports especially the blue jays. He was a man of many talents and later became a plumber/pipefitter, proudly serving his UA LOCAL 682 since the 1980’s.

John Dougald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Survived by his devoted wife, Marion (Moore) MacEachern; children, Brent (Margaret), Tracey, Malcolm, Cheryl (Ray), Rachael, Melissa (Gary) Jacquard; stepdaughter, Margaret (Kyle) Durrant; brother, Gerald (Brenda); sister, Mary; sister-in-law, Barbara; grandchildren: Zachery, Megan, Emma, Ian, Claire, Aiden, Keiran, Madison, Marina, Kyle, Hannah and Daniel.

John Dougald was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Cormier; mother, Sarah (MacDonald) MacEachern; father, Donald MacEachern; brothers, Frankie, John A, Malcolm, Alistair; sisters, Rose, Catherine (Kay) and Louise and stepson, Shane Moore.

Visitation will take place in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove on Friday December 5th, 2025, from 10-10:45 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Margaret of Scotland Cemetery Fund, Broad Cove or to Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
