I am so very sorry for your great loss.  
I met John 18 years ago in Margaree, in fact we talked about that on Saturday.  I am so grateful to have been there and shared with him.  We talked of family and friends.  He always had a smile and laughed so generously, you felt good spending time with him. 
He will be sorely missed by all.  A real friend.

John share so much about his family to Owen while Richard chatted on. I met John for the first time at an AA meeting,it was my first  meeting,John was a big help to me,and as time went by we lived the program  and many time would meet at the same meeting. John always had that kind hug and the handshake which made us feel so welcome. We had many good laughs all of us together following our meeting.
 Yes our Twelve steps were our stepping stone to where we are today.

We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Johnnie and thus are sending our heartfelt condolences to Sandra and Johnnie MacDonald’s family.  Johnnie was one of the first people to welcome me to Inverness 27 years ago and has been a friendly face ever since.  He was always the same, kind and caring, and would go out of his way to say hello. He will be greatly missed. God grant you all strength during this troublesome time.

I met Johnnie over thirty years ago at a dance in Pictou County. I was a new friend of Bob and Bill's. Johnnie guessed I was a friend of the two and we became friends that night. Over the years we talked about life, the struggles and the joys of our new way of living and laughing the craziness of the old. Johnnie always always talked about his kids (bragged {and he would say 'I'm not bragging'}).  He was so very proud of you all. I remember him telling me he was seeing a great gal and he was happy.  My heart is heavy as I think about Johnnie and write this small note. I thank God for having met him.  My heart goes out to all of you who loved him so much and I know his love will give you strength. Friends of Bob and Bill take what he gave you and be grateful. God Bless

Johnnie’s family, and his beloved Sandra, will miss the bear more than words can say.

I met John years ago and I still remenber when he gave a big hug and say to me "Wellcome to the Mac Donald's familly".
He was so king and friendly grandfhather. Always we will remember you.

I met Johnnie many years ago through work and I remember thinking what a nice person he was.  Then almost 5 years ago I met him through AA and I got to know him on a completely different level.  He was so kind and supportive.  Johnnie was a true friend and one terrific man.  He will be sooo missed.
