John Gilbert MacEachern

MacEachern, John Gilbert, Age 78, Inverness, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014, in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born in West Mabou on August 13, 1936, he was a son of the late Murdock and the late Catherine (Mullins) MacEachern. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Port Hood. He worked for many years in Toronto and in Halifax. He enjoyed carpentry, a good joke, a good cup of coffee, and a good game of cards. He is survived by sister, Anne MacEachen, Ontario; brothers, Norbert, Ontario; Stanley, B.C.; Sydney, Mabou; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Christina (2006); sister, Mary; brothers, Blaise, Mullins, Billy and Francis. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in St. Peter’s Church, Port Hood on Tuesday, September 23 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. with funeral mass to follow at 11a.m., Fr. Vincent van Zupthen officiating with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery Fund, Port Hood or to Inverary Manor, Inverness.
