MacLEAN, John Evans, Age 86, of Antigonish, formerly of Margaree Harbour, passed away peacefully in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Haverstock and Jessie (Evans) MacLean. John was a member of Calvin United Church, life time member of Sircom Masonic Lodge, retired fireman of the Margaree Forks Volunteer Fire Dept., entrepreneur for over 50 years in the home heating and trucking industry. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Cheryl (Fraser); sons, Ian (Donnetta), Shaun (Belinda), Basil (Sylvette); daughter, Priscilla LeBlanc (late Phillip J. LeBlanc); Beloved grandfather of Tanya, Heather, Kelly, Craig, Trevor, Elyse, Erica; great grandfather to Madison MacLean and Danielle LeBlanc; brother to Ruby MacKay (Arthur) and brother–in-law to Russell Greenough. John was predeceased by his infant granddaughter, Faith MacLean; sisters, Adelaide Greenough, Marie MacLean and his first wife, Annie Maud Ingraham. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Inverness Funeral Home, Inverness. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 28 at 3 p.m. from Calvin United Church, Margaree Harbour. Rev. Norma Mills officiating. Interment at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be sent to the Calvin United Church Cemerety Fund or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
