The world sadly lost a shining star when our Lizzi Jane MacEachern gained her wings on June 22 2021. In her short life, Lizzi was able to make a profound impact on those lucky enough to have been in her presence. She was known for her compassion, kindness and was wise beyond her years. Lizzi Jane was the ray of sunshine everyone wanted in their life. Our loss is immeasurable, but so is the legacy and love she left behind.
Lizzi came into this world to the delight of her family on August 6th 2009, and made her family complete. Lizzi Lou leaves behind so many heartbroken loved ones; her parents, Daniel and Nicole (Nikki); sisters, Samantha (Jake Wright) and Shelby (Keegan Freimanis); grandmothers, Sandra MacDonald and Donelda MacEachern; aunts and uncles, Patricia (Toodie) (late Daniel) MacPhee, Jack MacDonald, Richard (Butch) (Charlene Marchand), Lennie, Wendy, Natalie (Alex) Larade, Jason (Kara) MacEachern, Cathy, Kelly (Jason Chiasson) MacLean as well as cousins, Brock (Amy), Grant, Danielle (Cassidy), Patricia (Tish) (Dave), Lauren (Danny), Whitney (Craig), Nate, Carter, Ethan, Brock, Hallie, Meah, Lauchie, Izzy, and special cousin, Kalia; numerous grand aunts and uncles, extended family and friends, special mention to Jordan (Melanie) Amelia and Laina. Lizzi is predeceased by grandfathers, Lauchie MacEachern and Donald (DD) MacDonald.
For her young age, Lizzi was a natural athlete. Her greatest passion was riding and caring for her horse, Summer, at Reaching Strides Equestrian Centre. She enjoyed playing softball, hockey, and showing off her amazing overhand serve in volleyball. Lizzi was often outdoors as you could find her riding the four wheeler, and doing anything associated with the water. Riding her paddle board and going out on a boat with her Captain Melvin on the New Moon were some of her favourite pastimes. She also spent many hours playing cards, board games, and entertaining us with her TikToks. Lizzi was very creative as she was always making crafts and created many special drawings for those she cared deeply about.
She had a fierce love of animals, especially her dog Lacy. To her father’s dismay, she also had a great love of the Boston Bruins, especially Brad Marchand.
Lizzi was one of a kind, she had beautiful blonde curls, a giggle that was infectious and a smile that would light up any room. We must believe and have faith that with her heart of gold, she was meant for so much more.
While never far from her mother’s side, she was also a fierce protector of her father. Lizzi adored her two big sisters Samantha and Shelby. She jumped at any opportunity to spend time with them, as Sam would take her anywhere she wanted to go, while Shelby would help star in her TikToks. A best friend to so many, but especially to Mary Ellen. She also had a very special connection with Ryan (everywhere) who was like a brother to her.
We want to give special thanks to the first responders, to the staff on the life flight, to the doctors and nurses at the IWK who made every effort to save our little girl. We would also like to thank Chelsea Watts, Brandon MacNeil, Kim van den Hoogan and Jacqueline MacLean for everything they did. Our family will never forget the outpouring of support we have been given from our communities. We know this is a testament to the beautiful girl that we were lucky to hold and love as long as we did.
Carry the light and the spirit of her with you always. May the twinkle in her eyes be reflected in yours not only when you think about her but in everything you do and you will find that her soul will live on inside you and carry you through the darkest days ahead and rejoice in your greatest moments.
Lizzi, you were taken too soon but we loved you enough for a lifetime. Goodbye hurts so much because your story was not finished. We will be watching for you as you ride through the sunsets and see you in the shooting stars.
