It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Herbert Lloyd MacArthur on January 18th, 2025, at the age of 56. Lloyd was born on April 24,1968, to his mother, Estelle and father, the late Herbert MacArthur. He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Meg); siblings, Jimmy (Angela), Bernice (Wayne), Gregory (Diane), and Estelle (Brent).
Lloyd was predeceased by his son, Brad, and sisters, Michelle and Angela.
Lloyd grew up in Inverness and lived here for the majority of his life. In his early days, he took advantage of small-town freedom by exploring our beaches, the woods and running the streets with the rest of the neighborhood crew. Growing up on the water, Lloyd fished lobster and crab with his father and brothers. Later he shared his love of fishing with his son - while proudly displaying his favorite team’s logo, the Montreal Canadiens, on his first boat.
Lloyd’s life’s greatest achievement will always be his children. He was so proud of them, and of his nieces and nephews also. Lloyd will be remembered for never shying away from having a laugh, a cup of coffee, a good card game, and a scoff from a local spot, and of course, his mother’s Sunday dinners.
The family would like to invite you for visitation in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, on Wednesday, January 29th from 10:00-10:45 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 11am with Fr. Daniel Tshimbalanga officiating.
Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
