

It is with deep sadness, the family of Mabel Ruth (Ross) Mullins,84, of Inverness announces that she passed away on May 4, 2013, in Inverary Manor with family by her side. Mabel was born in Portree, Margaree, on June 17, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Jeptha and Iola (Shaw) Ross. Mabel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She had a deep love for her family and was a highly respected friend to all who knew her. Some of Mabel's enjoyments in life was her love to knit, garden,and the sewing of many baby quilts for all her grandchildren and great-grandchilren. In her last few years, Mabel was treasured at the Inverary Manor by all the wonderful staff and residents. She is survived by her children, Ann (John) Begin, John A. (Rhonda), Mary, Jerome, Darlene (John) MacDonnell, Robert (Jesslyn) and Richard (Karen). She is also survived by grandchildren, Lori (Burke) MacDonnell, Jennifer (Burke) MacDonald, Kim, John, James Begin, Kyle, Dawn, Holly (MacLean) and John Allen, Jason and Brittany Mullins, Robyn, Leah, Kelsey and Preston MacDonnell, James, Brett and Lily Mullins, Zachary, Ross and Cole Mullins. Mabel also had many great-grandchildren whom she adored. Mabel is also survived by her brother, Colin (Vivian) Ross,and sister, Martha Ross. Mabel was predeceased by her loving husband, John Allen Mullins; son, James Norman Mullins; daughter, Muriel Martha (Mullins) Burke. Also brothers, Irving, John, Carey, Murdock, Fred and Jeptha; sisters, Elizabeth, Delina, Anniebella,and Margaret; good friends and sisters-in-law, Katherine Murphy and Mary (Gicks) MacNeil. Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Monday May 6, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 2pm in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society, Inverary Manor, or to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery fund, Inverness.
