MacKay, Malcolm, aged 65. We are deeply saddened by the passing of my husband, father, brother, uncle, and grand uncle that was involved in a car accident on November 2, in South Haven. Malcolm was born on Cape Mabou on February 9, 1955 to the late John Dan MacKay and Mary Dorothy (MacIsaac) MacKay. He was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. Malcolm was raised on Cape Mabou and then moved to Broad Cove Banks where he attended Holy Family Convent until he moved to Ontario where he worked for Ingles and as a long-haul truck driver from Canada to the USA for many years. He then moved home to reside on the old homestead in 1990. Malcolm worked for many years with the Dept. of Transportation in Strathlorne, up until his passing. Malcolm loved to be active in his own garage, work at home, helping anyone who asked. He loved to plough neighbors drive ways in the winter or lending a hand to help someone to get back on the road remaining modest and never looked for thanks. Malcolm will be known as a great husband and is survived by his wife Janice (Poirier) of 40 years, Inverness; son, Jonathan, Calgary; also by sister, Mary Beaton; brother, Willard (Sylvia), Inverness; Melvin, Lindsay, Ontario; Helen MacKinnon (Fred Barkhouse), Antigonish; Beverly (late John Duquette), Cambridge, Ont.; Stella (Bob Langs), Mary's Hill, Ontario; Erna (late Fred Fitzner), Cole Harbour; Jane Ann (Charles) Smith, Eastern Passage He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and godchild, Chelsea. Malcolm was predeceased by numerous aunts, uncles, and a niece. Malcolm will be missed by many and may he rest in peace. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday November 21 at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in St. John's United Cemetery, Strathlorne. Memorial donations in memory of Malcolm may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society. Online condolences may be made to www.invernessfuneralhome.com
